【Humans of Taipei】

2014.07.20
Photo、Article/Humans of Taipei

The older sister-
“I work here and my younger sister is going to high school this year. We had 6 people in our family. Our parents passed away. Now there are only 4 of us. Dad had cancer for years and we thought he would be the first to leave us. But our mom died before him, suddenly and unexpectedly. It was the year when my younger sister was still a 4th grader.”

The younger-
“It was in the afternoon and I went to mom’s bedroom and asked for her permission to go swim. I couldn’t wake her up. She’s not breathing and had no heartbeat by then. The doctor said it was SAH (Subarachnoid hemorrhage) and she might have had brain tumor.”

The older sister-
“It was a bit strange and maybe a coincidence. That morning our oldest sis had a bad fight with mom. She went out and suddenly had a thought. She came back and said sorry to mom. A few hours later, mom’s gone. If it wasn’t for the apology, she would live in regret for her whole life…”

“We lost our dad to cancer in the first year my younger sister went to junior high. I doubted God’s plan. I asked Him why He made us orphans. Later I thought He might do so to make us see things differently.”

The younger-
“Humans all die sooner or later. God let us experience all these earlier than everyone else. Although on Parents Day at school, no one from my family attends, I still feel the love from my brother and sisters, and other members of my church. They always look after me. I also join skateboarding with friends I met in church. When skateboarding, we do fall. But it’s ok, just get up and everything will be fine.”
