“I didn’t wear makeup today so I’ll just pull down my hat… I own a market stall in Chungli, and on my day off I come to Wufenpu for replenishment. I had worked here for ten years and it gave me enough knowledge for apparel selling. I started my own small business because there was something going on with my mom.

“Our family came from Yunlin and mom had a snack stall. When she worked, she had to stand for a long time and hold back urine. She likes soft drinks. All these lifestyles brought her unhealthy kidneys. She and dad moved to Chungli seven years ago. It was easier for hospital. She would go by free bus.It only took her half an hour to Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital for dialysis. It was then I decided to earn more money and spent more time with mom. That’s why I started my business in Chungli night market.

“Mom had a kidney trasplant, but the doctor said she might live another ten years at most. I’ve accepted this. After all, we all die. It is more practical to live your life. Being afraid of death all the time isn’t helping.”

「我今天素顏耶！不然我帽子壓低一點好了…。我在中壢擺攤，這兩天休假來五分埔批貨。我之前在這工作十年，學到很多，會想自己創業，其實跟我媽媽有關。
「我是雲林人，從前媽媽做小吃，長期久站憋尿、又愛喝飲料，搞到腎臟都壞掉。為了方便洗腎，爸媽七年前搬到中壢，搭免費接駁車到林口長庚只要半小時；為了多賺一些、也為了多陪媽媽，所以我去中壢夜市擺攤。
「媽媽後來換腎了，但醫生說最多存活十年。我也看地很開，人都會死，把每天過好比較實在；一直害怕死亡，也無濟於事。」— 在松山車站。
